Terms of service
Last updated: January 2026
These Terms govern access to and use of the Etiq service and etiq.company. By using the service you agree to these Terms.
1. Service description
Etiq is a software-as-a-service that audits food labels against EU Regulation 1169/2011 and related national rules. The service returns findings, a compliance score, and a suggested corrected label copy.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service: no unlawful content, no attempts to disrupt or reverse-engineer the platform, no submission of third-party personal data without a lawful basis, no use of the service to mislead consumers.
4. Accuracy disclaimer
Etiq is an audit assistant, not legal advice. Findings, scores, and suggested corrections are generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Verify with a qualified regulatory or legal expert before printing labels or placing products on the market.
5. Data ownership
You own the labels, artwork, and derived audit results you submit or generate through the service. We claim no ownership of your content and we do not use your labels to train third-party AI models.
6. Licence to operate
You grant Etiq a limited, worldwide, royalty-free licence to process your content strictly to provide the service (running audits, storing results in your account, returning them to you).
7. Intellectual property
The Etiq platform, its interface, brand, and documentation are protected by intellectual property law and remain the property of etiq eurl.
8. Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance in euros. Prices are exclusive of applicable taxes. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
9. Free tier and demo
The demo is free, requires no card, and is rate-limited to prevent abuse. The free tier is subject to usage caps published on the pricing page and may evolve with reasonable notice.
10. Third-party services
The service relies on third-party providers (including OpenAI and Supabase). Their availability and terms may affect the service. We are not liable for outages caused solely by such providers.
11. Confidentiality
Each party will protect the other party's non-public information with reasonable care and use it only to perform the agreement.
12. Warranty disclaimer
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or related to the service is capped at the fees paid by you for the service during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
14. Term and termination
Either party may terminate the agreement at any time. On termination we stop processing your content and delete it after a short retention window, subject to legal obligations. Sections that by their nature should survive (IP, liability, governing law) survive termination.
15. Changes to the service and terms
We may update the service and these Terms. Material changes will be announced with reasonable notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Algiers, Algeria.
