What does Etiq actually do?
Etiq audits food packaging labels against EU Regulation 1169/2011 (FIC). You upload a photo or artwork file and we return a scored compliance sheet with every violation, the article it breaches, and a suggested fix.
Which countries are supported at launch?
France is fully supported. Germany, Spain and Italy are on the roadmap — we ship a market only when the national derogations are properly modelled.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The demo runs in your browser. Paid plans use the same web app; a Shopify and WooCommerce plugin are on the roadmap.
Can I audit artwork files, not just photos?
Yes on Studio and Agency plans. PDF and PNG artwork are supported today; .ai is on the roadmap.
Compliance
Does Etiq replace a regulatory expert?
No. Etiq catches the obvious violations that account for the vast majority of recalls — allergen emphasis, date format, mandatory mentions. Complex claims (health, organic, PDO/PGI) should still be validated by a specialist.
Which articles of 1169/2011 do you cover?
The mandatory-mention core: Articles 9 (list of particulars), 21 (allergens), 22 (QUID), 24 (durability), plus nutrition declaration under Chapter IV and legibility under Article 13.
How accurate is the vision analysis?
GPT-4o vision with a rule-engine post-processor. On our internal benchmark we catch ~94% of the violations a professional QA would flag on first pass. Every finding cites its article so you can verify in seconds and dispute false positives.
Data & privacy
Do you store my label images?
Demo images are processed transiently and deleted within 24 hours. On paid plans, your audit history stays private to your account and can be exported or deleted at any time.
Where is my data processed?
Analyses run through the OpenAI API. Audit metadata is stored in the EU (Frankfurt region). We do not sell or share your data.
Are you GDPR compliant?
Yes. We're the data controller for account data; OpenAI is a sub-processor for image analysis. A full DPA is available on request for paid plans.
Billing
What counts as one analysis?
One label image or artwork file uploaded and audited. Re-running the same image within 24 hours doesn't count twice.
What happens if I go over my quota?
We warn you at 80% and 100%. Overages are billed at €1.50 per extra analysis on Starter and Studio, and are included in the Agency plan up to fair-use.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Monthly plans stop at the end of the current period. Annual plans are refundable pro-rata within the first 14 days.
Do prices include VAT?
Prices are shown ex-VAT. French and EU B2C customers see VAT added at checkout; B2B customers with a valid VAT number are reverse-charged.
